Host a Screening

Communities around the country are using The New Metropolis films as a catalyst to get people talking and taking action towards revitalizing and reinventing their communities.

You can too.
From discussing the pros and cons of regional planning and balanced growth, to building a more inclusive, integrated community, there are several ways to use the films to engage your community:

  • through watch parties at your home,
  • in licensed public screenings hosted by community groups, government or educational settings, or
  • in partnership with your local public broadcasting station.
We've put together a Community Action Tool Kit to help you use the films to highlight the issues you care about for your community.

We’ve also provided you with stories and film clips from other communities who have already begun using the films as a catalyst for change in their regions in Communities Taking Action.

Groups and organizations using the films include:
  • community organizations
  • state and local governments
  • public commissions
  • libraries
  • chambers of commerce
  • church groups
  • universities
  • museums
  • race relations organizations
  • foundations
  • schools
  • media outlets
  • citizens
